his own body." (1 Cor. 6:18)
Spiritually speaking, pornography
use is bad news. The Bible warns
that sexual immorality, of which
porn use is one instance, is sin. It
interferes with our relationship with
God. Jesus used hyperbole to
underscore His warning against
lustful looking: "But I tell you that
anyone who looks at a woman
lustfully has already committed
adultery with her in his heart. If
your right eye causes you to sin,
gouge it out and throw it away.
It is better for you to lose one part
of your body than for your whole
body to be thrown into hell."
(Matthew 5:28f) God's will
for people is to be made holy in
their behaviour, which includes
abstaining from sexual immoral-
ity (1Thessalonians 4:3). Paul
cautioned, "But among you there
must not be even a hint of sexual
immorality, or of any kind of
impurity, or of greed, because these
are improper for God's holy people."
(Ephesians 5:3)
Is change possible? Most
definitely, as with any sin, when we
repent and seek God's help. We need
to confess our wrongdoing and
receive the forgiveness and
transformation made possible by
trusting in Christ's sacrifice for us.

Turn away from the tempting
tease, and discover the help and
new life God offers when we seek
Him. Paul notes some in the
early church at Corinth had
themselves been wickedly immoral
in the sexual field, but discovered
real help from the Lord to change.
"And that is what some of you
were. But you were washed, you
were sanctified, you were justified
in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and by the Spirit of our God"

Fall Fair posts loss
of X4,500 in 2015
Big scores
Dana Dolmage, right, was the recipient of the Optimists All -
Around Participation Award at the 2015 Brussels Fall Fair.
The award, presented this year by Cathy Cardiff, goes to the
person with the most points in the junior and general
sections of the fair combined. (Shawn Loughlin photo)

The society approved moving its
accounts to TD Bank in Wingham
after years with CIBC in Brussels.
Secretary/Treasurer Brian
Schlosser had first raised the issue at
last year's annual meeting, but the
decision was made at that time to
stay with CIBC.
He detailed, however, a number of
roadblocks to the society, including
fees that aren't present at other
financial institutions and waiting
periods to do business at CIBC.
He also pointed out that TD has
historically donated to the fair
through various avenues. While
CIBC in Brussels has historically
donated, it did not in 2015 and
members were not present at the fair
volunteering as they have been in
past years.
Members voted to move the
society's accounts to TD.

Society members nominated
Ralph Watson of Brussels to audit
the society's books this year.
It was also decided that the society
would continue with its gift basket
fundraiser, which annually nets the
organization nearly $1,000 in profit.
Members were concerned with the
bottom line from the 2015 fair,
which showed the organization to be
$4,315.45 in debt.
President Matt Cardiff attributed
much of that loss to the cost of the
midway. He acknowledged that it
would have to be addressed, because
the society cannot function losing
nearly $4,500 per year.
A helping hand
The Brussels Agricultural Society recognized Dorothy
Cummings of Barmy Tech with a special certificate for going
above and beyond in helping the society both personally
and through her business. She was presented the award at
the society's annual meeting Friday night by President Matt
Cardiff. (Shawn Loughlin photo)
