Cards of thanks
CABLE. To be recognized by one's
community for the multiple ways
you share your time and talents with
them is a very humbling experience.
As Brussels' "Citizen of the Year"
for 2015, I thank you for this honour
and to be included in the long list of
previous volunteers who have made
this community a great place to live.
Thank you to those who wrote letters
of nomination; to the panel who
made the final selection; to Shawn
Loughlin and Hank TenPas who
presented the plaque; and to "The
Citizen" our local newspaper who
each year encourages nominations
from its circulation area. Also a big
"thank you" to friends who made the
presentation even more special with
the addition of a colourful hat,
flower arrangement and a meaning-
ful scroll. Thank you Brussels for
your kindness and your spirit of
volunteerism serving as an example
to all newcomers. – Sandra Cable.
