The, December Meeting of the W.M.S. . of the ` United Church was held in the Church basement with 22 members and 2 visitors. in .attendance, .Following opening, exercises, and roll. , call reports were heard from conveners of various eommittees., Mrs. W. B. Anderson gave. the treasurer's re- port which . showed . the 'Society had raised . an amount well ,over the allocation. Thecitizenship: Iconvener, Mrs G. Brooks. read. an interesting article, on Living and Giving, Under ,the supervisionof. our . Supply Secretary, Mrs. E. Taylor, the - afternoon W.M.S. have helped. .in packing •a "large ibale for Korea in June and are now working on another bale to •be sent .in the near future.. They; also packed ' a mid -wife kit. ' in June: for Korea. The ladies have made • a quilt and, layette also for the. Mall 'bale for, Korea or where: most needed.. Mrs, Cumming mov- ed that the "slate of :officers nam- ed by the' nominating committee be' accepted. This emotion was seconded. by Mrs. ; McKim. Two faithful members- of the W MVI:S became life Members, at .this mee- ting, , Mrs: P.: ' Hoag` by her own contribution and MTs It. Robert- son ` by the .Society. Mrs. Dren- nan thanked the Auxiliary for their kindly 'co-operation- during her 2 -year term Of, office Mrs.: W. B. Anderson conducted the. remainder of -the program. 1dfrs, M. J. Webster read/the. scripture. Mrs. J. W. Joynt gave a Christ- mas reading and sang a fitting solo, "Seeking for me" at the close of her reading.
