Duncan Cameron, a member
'of . a pioneer . Lochalsh district
family, and , who„ was. within .a
few weeks of his 89th birthday,
died in Wingha'f Hospital on
SaturdaY, November 28th.
Mr. Cameron had enjoyed 1
good health, considering his age,
until about three weeks prior to
his death, : when he suffered a
stroke and was taken to the has-
pital where cdmplicatians efor

his. recovery.
Duncan was a son-- of Roderick
Cameron ' and Annie •• Douglas
and •was born at „Lochalsh on
January 16th, 1871. Canada
• His father came to -
from • Rosshire, Scotland .. as al
young man with two other bro-
thers. John 'and Dunn, who all
took .up land in the Lochalsh
neighborhood '' about 1852.
Roderick took up the farm
now owned by George MacGil-
livray, - and there, in : a log bome,.
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron's family
of fourteen : children .-.. 8 , boys
and • 6 girls ,— were 'born'• -and
•praised. The ; , log home was re-'
placed by a two-storey home in
1913,- but the log structure re-
mained', on the premises until a
few years ' ago. of •+fourteen,
