Reeve Joynt reviewed a pro- gressive year that featured the development of another water supply well and paving of more streets, including the resurfac- ing of, • Havelock' St. from Rose to Ludgard, a project that was undertaken' when it was possible to do the job at a saving, of over $1,000 With materials and equip- ment .available close at hand. A small deficit on the year's operation is estimated at less than $200, and 'this in view of the fact that the new heating system in the• Town Hall at a cost 'in excess of $3,000, had to be ' paid off, rather than spread. over into next year's financing, as had been originally .planned. The Fire truck debenture ' re- tires' this' year, the Geddes Block, and road resurfacing and original' waterworks debentures of $65,000 retire 'in 1961, and generally the ,debenture debt picture. is quite good. Prior to that, he served : 'six years on council.
