SPEAK'I'NG CONTEST
A meeting of the Federation of
• Agriculture of the. Township of
West Wawanosh was held .on
Monday. evening in. the Township
Hall. The' president,'' Bill Caesar
was . in charge of -the meeting.
The sun]. of .$50.00 was donated to
the Salvation Army, The county
picnic will be held on July 5th
at. the. Goderich Summer School
grounds.-
It Was' decided to pay each 4-H
member who satisfactorily coin-
pletes their 1959 project $2;.00 as
was d•one .last year.
Again this year the Federation
will sponsor a • ptiblic ' speaking`
contest. This will be : ; in two
groups T 'Juniors, upto and in-
cluding grade 8 as of June lst
and seniors from grade 9 to. 18.
years of age as of June 1st: Top-
ics •are. 'as ' follows: 1. The Royal
Visit; 2. Neighbours; 3. Why I ani
proud to be a Canadian. 4. The
St.. Lawrence' Seaway; 5 My
Country; 6. Is. a High School edu-
cation necessary for the farmer
