VOTERS'. LIST SHOW VILLAGE
UP,. TOWNSHIPS DOWN
The printing of voter's lists for:
the forthcoming , provincial elec-
tion,. seems to: prove the . trend.
of a declining.rural population
In Lucknow .the enumerators
lists for thethree polls list' a
,'total of 683'.voters, . as' compared'
with 648" in 1955. This is..an ;in
crease' of . 35 voters locally. •
But in the. three Townships
which The. Sentinel printed, the
figures' show a drop. In Kinloss
there are 609 names as compar-
ed with 745: 'in 1955; in West Wa
wanosh 724 as against 745 in the
last election and in • Huron. 809
as compared with 882 four years
ago.. This is . a total • decrease in
the three • townships • of 140
names. •
'Incidentally, a word of praise
• due the ' enumerators'. Never;,
before have we•'received such
welt- prepared and legible copy,
most of it typewritten. -
