at the Lucknow Public Library
and will assume her. new duties

Mrs. A. E; Marshall, :who recent-

ten years.

Mr. arid Mrs.. -Thomas I Burns,
a wonderful otic , remarkable
couple, reached their 62nd wed-
ding anniversary . on Tuesday,
June 2nd, The occasion'. was
quietly `observed, but numerous
friend's- palled to extend • their
c'ongratulations,and best, wishes:
Both .are 9,1 year's of .age. Mr.
Burn$'s reached that. milestone on
May" 2nd and, 'Mrs ,Burns on May'
26th. ` Both enjoy very .good'
health although' Mrs, Burns' does
not go out :much; When .The Sen-
tinel called to extend •congratula
tions and enquire as to their
health, Mrs. Burns said, ^-" We.
are both very. (grateful. -to beab e
to wait on ourselves."
. Mr. Burns daily walks down
town from : their home at the
north end of the Village; arid lie
still , keeps busy by tending a
large garden Which shows" the 'r• e=
sults • of his attention, and; which
he takes great pride in.: The po-
tatoes and other planting . are
well up now.
,Mrs. Burns. 'is ,a meticulous
housekeeper,. and. lends 'her hus-
band .a 'hand• in the. garden at
times.' They ,:are 'a 'devoted and
model couple. •

Mary Ann Beaton. daughter of
Mr.: and Mrs. Angus Beaton. af.
Paramount, where, she was born
and raised, and ,'in 1297 'married
to Thomas +Burns who was born
