Mr. MacLeod tock ill two days earlier. Born on the secondconcession of Kinloss Township • on • April 5, 1900 he Was the' son of John and Evangeline MacLeod., He receiv- ed his early educatioin. Kinloss arid . in. 1923 • 'attended Michigan. State .:Atutornobile School in De- troit.' Following graduation.' he, went to Wingham th 1924. and, was a garage mechanic for Wil- liam Reid.•$ illiam.Reid.+ hortly.:after he went into partnership.x with Wilfred 'Arthur and.they owned and ap- erated• the MacLeod and Arthur garage, Mr, MacLeod married Mary' Ann .MacSween :of Kincardine oh: April 9, 1924, and they have liv- ed in Wingham ever since their marriage. to 1941 he went to Hamilton to work for : Canadian Westinghouse iCompany, at a time when the country .needed. people • forware production. Mr. and Mrs. William.Kempyn purchased the 'Clam lake Sum- mer Resort from Mr, and ''Mrs, Arthur Breckles of Lucknow. Mrs. :Kempyn was. away at the time and ,Mr: Kempyn was awak- ened. from .his sleep by the crack- ling. rackling• of the fire, which was • out of control. The Lucknow Fire 'Brigade was summoned but was not able to save the building., '• Mr, Alphonse Murray returned home 'from a trip to Red Deer, . ' • The. 4th meeting_ of; theHoly- rood "Cereal' Queens" was/ held on April 25th at the home of Mrs.` P. A. Murray. °Preceding the Meeting, Diane Hewitt and. Marie Schnell*. ,demonstrated Rolled Oatmeal Porridge , and. Barbara Murray ; made Graham pudding. After repeating the 4-H .pledge 9 members answered'the roll call, "Three ways of storing .cereals." Plans were made for •the next meeting and book covers. were discussed. • Assignments were 'given. Notes Were taken on serving cereals, breakfast, foods frons wheat, oats. and oat products. Topics were discussed orally and the cooking was sampled, and all agreed that the , pudding and porridge were really. good.. • - The • 5th meeting was • held with eleven members.
