Peter Milne MacLeod, of Wing-,.
ham, passed away in Winghann'
General Hospital on. Wednes-
day, April 22nd,following 'a very.
short illness. Mr. MacLeod tock
ill two days earlier.
Born on the secondconcession
of Kinloss Township • on • April 5,
1900 he Was the' son of John and
Evangeline MacLeod., He receiv-
ed his early educatioin. Kinloss
arid . in. 1923 • 'attended Michigan.
State .:Atutornobile School in De-
troit.' Following graduation.' he,
went to Wingham th 1924. and,
was a garage mechanic for Wil-
liam Reid.•$
illiam.Reid.+ hortly.:after he went
into partnership.x with Wilfred
'Arthur and.they owned and ap-
erated• the MacLeod and Arthur
garage,
Mr, MacLeod married Mary'
Ann .MacSween :of Kincardine oh:
April 9, 1924, and they have liv-
ed in Wingham ever since their
marriage. to 1941 he went to
Hamilton to work for : Canadian
Westinghouse iCompany, at a
time when the country .needed.

Less than two weeks prior to
his passing, April llth, t VIr: and
Mrs.. MacLeod celebrated their
35th wedding anniversary at their

He ' is survived by wife, ' a
son, Donald, of Sarnia, and two
daughters, Phyllis (Mrs, Lloyd
Keeler) • of Walkerton and' Jean
(Mrs. P. 'Mackinnon) Wingham.;
There are five grandchildren. Be..

Alex, of Lucknow; and one 'sifter,

Lucknow. •
Mr.. MacLeod was a -Member of
St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church and of the • Junior Vete=
K'INLOUGH'.

Fire Destroys Home
Fire destroyed the farm -home
at the' Clam Lake,` .2 -miles north
of $ inlough on Friday night.
Mr. and Mrs. William.Kempyn
purchased the 'Clam lake Sum-
mer Resort from Mr, and ''Mrs,
Arthur Breckles of Lucknow.
Mrs. :Kempyn was. away at the
time and ,Mr: Kempyn was awak-
ened. from .his sleep by the crack-
ling.

The. 4th meeting_ of; theHoly-
rood "Cereal' Queens" was/ held
on April 25th at the home of Mrs.`
P. A. Murray. °Preceding the
Meeting, Diane Hewitt and. Marie
Schnell*. ,demonstrated Rolled
Oatmeal Porridge , and. Barbara
Murray ; made Graham pudding.
After repeating the 4-H .pledge
9 members answered'the roll call,
"Three ways of storing .cereals."
Plans were made for •the next
meeting and book covers. were
discussed. •
Assignments were 'given. Notes
Were taken on serving cereals,
breakfast, foods frons wheat, oats.
and oat products. Topics were
discussed orally and the cooking
was sampled, and all agreed that
the , pudding and porridge were
really. good.. • -
The • 5th meeting was • held with
eleven members. Two : receipes
were ,practised Diane Hewitt and .,
Eleanor M6Nay ' made date • and
oatmeal squares': Karen Carruth-
ers' and Joyce McNay ,made a
macaroni and cheese 'supper dish
with white sauce. After repeat-
ing' 'the'
epeat-ing''the4-H pledge tie roll •call
was "My list of food products."
Sample . book . covers were dis-
played and the • styles were chos-.
en. Notes were taken on "Cereals
, at noon and evening meals" and
"Further facts '.about flour ,mix-
tures." Quiz sheets were filled
aut,�and given orally. The tasty
Cooking was sampled which was
followed by ,the dishwashing.,
Mr. and Mrs. Currie Colwell,
Bruce and Betty visited on Sun-
day with .Mrs.. J.; W. Colwell.
