Iace Of Birth
It is, not uncommon to, have
callers at The Sentinel Office —
often from, far distant places
seeking information about 'one's.
forbears.
On Thursday such a visitor
dropped in at the Post ()Trice and;
at this office We solicited the
help of S E. Robertson,, tut
none ,was ,able to be' as helpful:
as we wished to ' be although the
gentleman was ..provided with a
lead or two to ':follow up.
He was :Robert Everett of 3309,
Highland Place, N.W.;; Washing-
ton 8, D.C.
,Mr. Everett's mother was born
in this community, but 'left; here,
with her ,parents while presum-
ably in her early teens.; She had
spoken to her own family in Tater
;years .of the Lucknow cominun-
ity, and had mentioned a' trip to
Kincardine. This.. would, of course
been by horse drawn vehicle, or
perchance on • • a Sunday School
picnic by' railway excursion to
,the lakeside town. 'These. outings
were popular prier to the advent
of the. motor car. . • •'
Mr. .Everett's grandfather was
GeorgeGlazier .• and his grand,:
mother's maiden name was Mar
garet Elizabeth • Young. Mr. Ev-
erett'.s mother was Helen,. or Ella,
Glazier and,wasbdrn in'this .com-
munity on August 2nd, 1864.,
If her trip to Kincardine .was
by train, the family must have
lived here for a • number of years
-following 'her birth, for ,it .was:
ten years later. in 1874, before the
railway linewas con plete Ltn-
Kincardine,- through Lucknow.*:.
