Lloyd Ackert, 'Holyrood farmer'
Ind feed dealer, had a close brush
with death last, week . when. he
was; buried, to the neck; for 2%
lours in a grain bin in his barn.,
£he. freak accident was an unus
ial one that fortunately had a
sappy ending.
Lloyd' has several large • bins
used in connection with his : feed
business. In attempting to check
the wheat :bin with a thermome-
ter probe; he., discovered that the
thermometer, usually stuck in the
grain, had •buried itself in the
bin. Lloyd, climbed into the bin
Which measures, 16 feet high by
14' by ' 10'. By 'probing into the
wheat, he, Was `.able to detect the
thermometer.,' ,
Lloyd had Mel .Passmore; who
was working . with .him, let:some
grain out . a 8" .by 8" channel at
the, bottom. of .. the bin ' thinking
that. the exit of, grain would loos-
en the thermometer that it could.
