Afternoon Auxiliary of the "Pres-.
byterian church was .held at Mrs,
Morgan Hendersons cottage :at
Bruce . Beach on Wednesday af-
ternoon,'.:July 26th with• an at-
tendance • of 38 including several
visitors.. Mrs. Charles Cook was
in charge of the . meeting which
opened with repeating the Pur-
pose, followed' by a,• hynrin After
reading Psalm 102, Mrs. Cooke
offered prayer.'. Mrs. Sherwood
gave the Bible Study on the life
of .Phoebe. Mrs. W. MacKenzie
and Mrs.' Anderson comprised the
Prayer Circle. Miss N. Malcolm
conducted the business'' •period..
'Mrs. Virden Mowbray's resigna-
tion as leader of the C.G.I.T.: was
received and an appointment will
be dealt with 'ata later meeting.
Miss Malcolm .introduced the
guest speaker. Miss Jeanette War-
ren of Walkerton who served for
„an extended period as a teaching
missionary in •.China and who is
now retired for a . number of
years. She• 'mentioned that' the
donations received around the
world, zin the World's bay of
Prayer were used to provide' "liter
erature in every language to
converts. to Christianity through-
out the :world and said tbat, we
should follow up our donations
with .prayer: She stressed the po-
wer' of prayer, and gave, several
illustrations showing: the : power
of prayer. After the singing ofa
hymn, Mrs. ,Henderson . and her
'committee` served a sumptuous.
