He was 79.
He was born in DelbYshire,
England, and as a youth worked'
briefly driving ponies in': • the.
mines in that. community. He
studied arts 'and theology 'and
graduated at ,Monehester college
joining thrMetliOdist ChiArch as
laYr"Preacher. • •
1n1910 he :emigrated to Canada
and settled lb Ontario and Was
ordained in the London confer-
ence. He served faithfully in
ch•utehes at Port Lambton, Ben
miller, Varna, Kirkton, • Sparta,
Camlaohie. He Was preathing in
Newcastle, New Brunswick at
the time of Union andas. a United
Church minister he had Congre-
gations in Ashfield, Thorndale,
Burgessville; Hamilton, Brant-
ford and Burns. After his :re.:

BrantfOrd • and he took over the
pastoral care of Cathcart for se-
