Duncan was one of a family
of nine children of 'Alexander
MacLean and Catherine 'Finlay-
son . and was born • on Concession;
12,, "Ashfield on August 1st, 1874,
on the farm now owned by Wm.
P. 'Hogan. '

'Duncan's paternal grandpar-
ents, •John and Mary MacLean,
came to Canada from, Scotland
in 1844, and prior to 1850 came
•to.Ashfield:to take up the crown
deed of their farm timbered with
'virgin 'woods..
Mr. 'MacLean was predeceased
by 'his wife Alice (Guest) Mac-
Lean 'who' was born' in Kincar-
dine.
Duncan was 'predeceased by' 2
'sisters, Mary and Sarah and by
six brothers, Alex, John,. David,
Charles, Kenneth and Donald.
The latter whomade, his horhe
iri ' Luckriow died . in January
1958.

on a farm between. LucknO
and Whitechurch.

The funeral service was con
ducted Wednesday •' afternoon, in,
;St; Paul's United Church, "by the
Rev, C. H. Forth, Tnterment .was
made in the civic cemetery,
Cochrane.
