The regular meeting of 'the
• lstLucknow Guide ' Company
• was . held . on Friday, evening at
• 7 p.m. Rollcall and collection
of dues opened the Meeting. As
•was previously decided,' dues
• .for :the evening were set aside
for UNICEF. During Patrol Cor-
ners, the :guides ,„ put finishing
touches on their .' screens which'
were judged, at. the end, of •the
• meeting. 'Thiscompetition was
' won by the. Scarlet Tanager
patrol; however, • all the screens.
were very informative with

Born In Huron Twp.
• ROBERT •McCOSH
One • of Ripley's oldeSt and
;most • •respected citizens ,passed
•away in the person of Robert
:McCosh on Sunday, October 31,
at Kincardine •General Hospital.
He was fortunate enough to
live.almost 91 years and remain
active until tl* last three weeks:
Robert Mocosh was born on
November 8th,, 1071 on the farm
• cleared by his graiadfather, near
.Bruce Beach. He was the son
of the •late Wm. McCosh and
lilabeth Cullen.He married
. Tillie Orr on• December • 15th,
1903. Their fathily are: Gladys,,
',Mrs. Wm. J. Arnold' and Donald
of litgon Township, Olive, Mrs.
Hector Knight 'of Picton. • He is,
also survived by five grancichil7
dren and 3 great grandsons.
In 1914, the family moved to
the purple Grove community.
F.ollowing his wife's death- in
1943, & later loss of his home by
fire, he '.moved to 'Ripley.. His
sister, Kate, came from Melfort
and. made her home with, him
until her death last October.
Few men have been privileged
to serve their church as long and
faithfully. Robert ..was Ordained
an elder at Pine River ,in -1899
and served* continuously until
his death, at•Kinlough,.KnOx
Ripley and finally at St. And-
rew's United Church.' •
The memorial "service was held
from St. • Andrew's United.
Ohurch with •Rev. 0. B. Strapp
and 'Rev. Douglas, Dunlop in
Charge.. The themberi..of the ses-
sion acted as :Pallbearers and
honorary :pallbearers. Interment

Canada Packers bought Way-
ne's. steer at the Christmas sale
auction for •50e 4 pound,
' Wayne is the 15 -year-old son
• of ;Mr. and Mrs'. Torn Todd of
St. ;Helens and a grandson of
• the late Frank G. Todd, 'who"
established •this Aberdeen -Ang-
us herd 'many'years ago, and
which through. the .years won
many show ring honors. •
• Wayne • placed • third in the
Lucknow 4,H calf club ,compet-
ition in connection with • the
Lucknow Fail Fair., -He has beeri
a 441 club exhibitor since a lad
of "12s years.
Besides the attractive price re-
