Twp. was a log school at Pine River,'' built in 1855. S.S. Nos. 2 and • 3 were built in 1:81516 or soon after .The first; schoolhouse in. The log school was replaced by a frameschool, which was. painted' red: to really—earn the title of the little red schoolhouse.
