Joe Passed
Away At bndon
In poor healthfor. a. long time,
Joseph' Thomas Nixon passed
away at ` Westmin'sterspital,
London, an Tuesday, May 8th,.
at the ,age .of 73.
He Was the son .of •Joseph Nixon
and . Mary . Ch.ampion and was
born at. Whitechurch` on July '5th,
1 88. The family later moved to
-Lucknow where Joe was raised,
and where he is well rennem-
bered by older residtents. /
Joe was a' veteran of -World
War 1.., having enlisted in, the
160th ;Bruce Battalion:: Overseas
,he Was . attached to;: the '13th
Battalion, • Following .the war' he
served for a time on the London
Police' Force, and later • farmed
in' the Dorchester district, before
returning to London. •
Mr. Nixon. is , survived by his
wife, the former Annie Beatrice
Jenkins,by four .daughters, Mrs.
Fred Wallingford .Marianne);
Mrs. Robert Andress ' (•Ruth);.
Mrs. Norman Griffiths (Ruby);
Mrs. 'Len Canard (Nellie) and.
four sons,; Gordon, Robert, Ken
neth. and James all of London.
Surviving also ' are a sister,
Mrs., Sid' Plowright .(Ruby)°' of
Oshawaand two brothers, Har-.'
ry. :of Lucknow and • James . of
Lakeland, Florida, ,.a1'1 .of whom'
attended the funeral service.
There are 12 grandchildren
one . great grandchild., He -was
predeceased by a brother Fred
of Lucknow. L•
