fered a severe paralytic seizure, •
death came to William. Ritchie
Johnston on, Saturday, November
16th at . Hamilton General Hos-
Will Johnston was well known
and highly respected by older
Lucknow residents who knew 'him
well,,
He • was the son 'of, William
Johnston and Mary A. Ritchie. of.
the Zion , community. Will was
born . in Minneapolis, U.S.A.•on
December '17th, 1886, and • at the
time of his sudden passing ' was
within a month of . his 77th birth-
day,
Mr. Johnston died ' when the
family ' were . children, ' and upon
the mother rested the respoisibil-
ity of raising her family of. three
sons • and .three daughters..
As a young man . Will was . en{-''
p Dyed • in J. G. Murdoch's dry'
goods' store. He later went . to
Winnipeg and was.e working for the
T. Eaton Company , in that ;city.
when .he enlisted in. 'World War
I. 'Upon•, his return .from over-
seas ` he remained at . the family
home in Lucknow • for a year
recuperating from Trench ' Fever..
He ;went •to Toronto where. he
resumed his ' pre-war occupation,
later going. '. to Hamilton where he
made .his . headquarters as a: com-
mercial' . traveller, and . where `he.
continued to reside upon •retiring..
The funeral service was' held.
at MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow,. • on. .Tuesday,. November
19th, conducted by Rev. • H. W.
Strapp. Interment was ' in Green=

Crawford was guest of honour at
a shower, held by Miss Diane

ford and ' Patricia ' Thompson.
