Although last Friday night was not officially Halloween, 'L.D.H.S. held its annual- .Hallowe'en . dance. • Dancing commenced at nine, o- 'clock and between . that . hour. and 12:30 p.m. many odd and myster- ious :creatures endeavoured to come in and take part in the ` ac- tivities. The . gymnasium was decorated with orange and black crepe pap- er and many skeletons, cats,, wit- ches and spookswere either .at- tached. to the walls or werehang- ing fr' om the ceilings. Numerous pumpkins:. were. also "a -glow" . on the tables in the cafeteria. Perhaps one of .the-- main 'attrac- tions. was ' the "Horror , House." Prepared by the Grade twelve stu- dents this •panorama of Goblins arid Ghostsproved to be a wet- momed relief from the dancing which : was supplied ' by .: records. Although no. accidents occurred in this "passageway of darkness," it both', scared and'; shocked a•. great number . of : the ' high' :school stu- dents. , . One other aspect that mad ethe dance' successful: was the fact that many. students from Ripley Dis- trict High School took part in •the' dance.
