A wedding of interest was sol-
emnized at Sacred, Heart Church,,
Winghani on Saturday when Pat-
ricia Ann Brophy, Reg lv, . ex,
changedvows with . Eugene Augus-
tine Devereaux of- Alliston, The
.:bride is the daughter of Mrs, Jos-
eph Brophy and the 'late Mr. Bro-
phy of wham. The groom is the
only son of Mr. '. and Mrs, Augus-
tine Devereaux of St. Augustine.
. Rev. ' Gerald . Freker of • Sarnia,
formerly of. Wingham, ' celebrated
the Nuptial Mass,. Rev, R. 'Durand
of Dublin, alsoa former pastor,
waspresent in the sanctuary.
Miss Anna McDonald was soloist
while Mrs. Richard 'Campeau pre-
sided at the organ..
The bride, who entered the.
church with her uncle, Charles
Desmond of Detroit, chose a simple
. ` gown of nylon chiffon over silk
taffeta, shallow. scoop neckline,
_ long lily -point sleeves . and a fitted
bodice. The skirt was appliqued.
with Argentine lace. Back interest
was enhanced with a Lover's
Knot bow and unpressed pleats
forminga. chapel train. Her head-
dress was a . dainty pillbox with
four -tiered . ,French silk illusion
veil, elbow lengh. She carried a
cascade of red" roses.
Attending the bride. were - her
niece, Miss Mary White of Wing -
ham and Misses :Jean and Betty
.'Devereaux, of London, twin sisters:
of the . groom. They were ident-
ically attired hi floor -length .dresses
of blush rose 'embossed • silk
tafffeta with: matching pillbox hats
and circular eye -veils:. They car-
ried` 'cascades' of • pinkand white
carnations...
The " flower girls, little Misses
Julie. Kiang: of Teeswater and Carol:
Ann Brophy of . Wingham, nieces
of the ride, were sweet in ` white
terylene floor -length .dresses . •and
they carriedbaskets of pink : and
white carnations.
Acting as., groomsman was Ger-
ald .Brophy and the ushers were
John and Desmond. Brophy, Wing`
ham, all brothers of the •bride.
A reception followed at Danny's
Restaurant.' The: bride's .,mother'
received :her guests in a gown of '.
peacock blue , floral , silk .brocade
with pink ,feather hat and acces-
sories and corsage of pink:. roses
The groom's mother;. ,chose dark
brown French , wool crepe with
multi -coloured feather . hat:

Mr. and; Mrs, Charlie King .of
Detroit visited' with, her cousin
Mr. and Mrs, Russel B. Ritchie
on Wednesday.
The Ladies, Aid: meeting was
held. Wednesday evening: at the
home of Mrs, Wm, Scotty Can to
worship was given ' by president
Mrs. Wesley Young, Scripture
reading , was given by Mrs, Wm.
Evans and meditation by Mrs.
Scott, Prayer was .given by Mrs.
Charlie Tiffin. Roll call and min-
utes, and treasurer's report was
given•by Mrs. Frank Miller, in the
absenceof the •secretary & trea-
surer. ' Offering .prayer was given
by Mrs. Lloyd Moffat. During the
rising money
wee given. It was,asuggested to
have a social evening of slides in
the near . future, Readings were
given by Mrs. Moffat,. Mrs. -Tiffin
and Mrs. Miller. Hymns 414 and
409 were sung. The Lord's Prayer
was repeated in unison. A delicious
lunch, was served by the hostess
and a social' time enjoyed. ,
The C.O.C. meeting was held .on
Sunday; , afternoon during the
church service. ,
The W.M.S. meeting will be
held on Thursday afternoon Oct-
ober 8th, at the home of Mrs.: Wm.
For travelling to Cape Cod; 'and
other points m . the United States,
the bride wore a gold sheathe with
brown accessories and corsage of
bronze ' mums,
