Arena CushiOnS: Get Repair Job The cushions that circle. the ice, surface at the Lucknow arena have., received some ` attention in the past week. ,George Whitby and 'Harry Hackett were busy there for a few days repairing and. :straightening the boards in pre- •paration 'for another winter sea- son. Normally, the cushions receive a ' beating during the hockey sea- son, but on top of this they had been badly forced . out of align- inent when the new cement floor, was recently installed in the arena. In many cases, • it was necessary for the workmen to install new boards' but in other stretches they were able to straighten the exist- ing boards which we understand are the orignial ones. Pine River far- mer ' who had • his • hand badly mangled ' in. a : corn harvesting ac- cident recently, has lost the third finger` of his right hand at the second knuckle The accident teok his fourth and fifth fingers and the palm of his hand • and efforts' :were made to save the ` third finger.
