Ripley and a record- breaking field crop competition highlighted the Ripley Fall Fair Saturday., . Fair secretary Albert Wylds, said the grain 'show •had 50 to 60 en- tries in each of thevarious. classes:' He . predicted .' entries • in the field crop competitions would set a 1964 Ontario record. The Ripley fair has set the provincial rec- ord for the pastseveral years. This year; there were 180 com- petitors in the, three field crop classes. Gate receipts for Saturday's fair were 25 per cent higher than for any previous fair except, last. year's centennial event.
