A• native of St. Helens, who had resided in the Kincardine . commun- ty, for• many years, and a valued member of the executive of the Canadian Legion, Percy Hyde, died in Westminister Hospital fol- lowing a month's .illness, ' He had been in indifferent health for a number of years as a result of a heart condition which had plagued him since his discharge from the armed forces. Percy Hyde was a son of the late Mr. ' and Mrs James Hyde .of St. Helens. When he went. .to Kincar- dine he was an employee . of the Andrew Malcolm: Furniture. Com- pany until enlisting and going, overseas with the 48th Battalion, seeing service in : the European theatre of war. On his returii to Kincardine he resumed his old os- ition but; indifferent health allowed him to take only part time employ-. ment . and; this was denied him in recent years. As a veteran he spentmany hours at the legion hall where . he showed a devoted interest . in its advancement and progress..
