Thursday after- , noon, July • 16th, at . Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home . in Lucknow where she,:, had been . a ` patient for five ` years_ since . July of 1959. She .'was in her 89th ;year.. Mrs, • Kijpatrick was a member of one of ,Ashfield: Township's •pioneer families and: had •spent her entire life in, the community, where she was beloved ' for her many fine characteristics. She was A , devoted., •. wife. and mother°, a . {good . neighbour, kindly, gentle,and 'hospitable and when she 'had . her health,: played an• exemplary role in church . and community ,activ For man ` . years .Mrs.' Kilpat-' -ick serveas-the--'-:Mafeking` correspondent to' The.Sentinel, and was always.: helpful and encour- aging to the senior ;'publisher when .he undertook the task . of "run- ning the paper" a good .many years ` ago. Mrs. Kilpatrick: was. the former Maria 1 i1izabei;lr Anderson, one of • a family, of.' eleven; children 'of David Anderson and Mary Anrr Webster. Elizabeth was a Leap Year baby having been' born on. .the family farm in .the Zion com- munity' on ; February 29th, '1876.' Mr., and ;Mrs Kilpatrick were married in '.1906•:.and fanned. on the Kilpatrick homestead in the' Blake . community in Ashfield 'un- til 1939, when, they. retired to the Crewe area. on . the 6th ;'of Ash- field. Mr. Kilpatrick died eleven years later'' in March 1951, ,and that summer Mrs.: Kilpatrick•mov- ed� to .Dungannon. • - r • In. failing health for several, ' years, • Mrs. Kilpatrick ` had been cared: 'for by Mrs.. 'Irvine Henry of..Dungannon,- prior to coming-; to Pinecrest Manor. r The remains rested at 'the John- stone Funeral Home in •Lucknow until Saturday. /The funeral ser- vice 'was held that afternoon . in Dungannon United. Church ,conduc- • ted by the'pastor Rev. J. A. Veld - huffs.. Miss: Betty Irvin was Organ - 1st.
