'Single Copy 10c Escape'Fatalities It Hit ViIIage A brief, but "violent electrical storm late Tuesday afternoon of last week, was felt. in at least four homes in the southerly part of the Villageand it was for- tunate that fatalities and fire did not result. Most damage occurred •to the home; of Norman Taylor, .and . it was 'indeed a blessing .that the .retidence, was unoccupied at . the time. The Taylor family were holi- daying on Acton Island, north of Bala. They received the message, 'delavered by boat that evening in- forming them their house had been. struckby lightning. On Wednes- day, they returned. to townand on Friday went back to their' holiday resort, ,where Mrs. Taylor, Terry. and Neill are spending this week. . The lightning is believed to have followed' the hydro Able into the' Taylor home. The base board, . plugs show signs of the "scorch, ing." The television connection was; blown out of the receptacle. Fuses • were blown and the hydro and • telephone knocked out, • .
