Inubik is a government ' builtex- perimental town x-perimental.:town where all' the major Arctic research : is being carried on. The population of 1500 is made up of about 300 Eskimos and, the remainder chiefly ; white government employees. The feder- al department :.of northern affairs runs a number . of health _ centres for Eskimos, , Indians andcivil employees in ;the North .West Ter- ritories. The two major centres are Whitehorse and Inubik. Most 'interesting to Ken will be the 150 bed hospital which isnew and. modern.
