Ken had been, interning at St.
Pauls Hospital, Vancouver. His
destination is Inubik in the North
West Territories.
From" Vancouver Dr. and Mrs.
MacNay cameto Edmonton to
await their flight to the Far
North. They expected to be in Ed-
monton for about •a week • where
they would ' "attend school" fora
briefing. on, living conditions, in
the Arctic. •
Ken and his wife Arlene,. will
take up residence at Inubik, a
community of ' 1500 . persons, lo-
cated 2000 miles north. of Vancou-
ver, . 200 miles • beyond the Arctic
Circle and 50 miles from, the
mouth of the ' MacKenzie river.
Inubik is a government ' builtex-
perimental town
x-perimental.:town where all' the
major Arctic research : is being
carried on. The population of 1500
is made up of about 300 Eskimos
and, the remainder chiefly ; white
government employees. The feder-
al department :.of northern affairs
runs a number . of health _ centres
for Eskimos, , Indians andcivil
employees in ;the North .West Ter-
ritories. The two major centres
are Whitehorse and Inubik.
Most 'interesting to Ken will be
the 150 bed hospital which isnew
and. modern. He will be junior
doctor. thereare two others,. and

in industry.
Agricultural: ' This course leads
to ' the Secondary School Gradu-
ation Diploma. It is designed for
boys;., who plan to farm ..orseek

was.. maid of honor, wearing a
gown of . blue organza over taf-
feta, and she'carried a nosegay
of white and blue mums. Organ-
ist, Miss Edna Boyle, played the
wedding music , and the soloist,
Mrs.. Jack Hewitt,' sang "0 Per-
fect Love" and. "The Song of
Ruth."
