of the West must be shared with
the East, •
Westerners must also 'pay at-
tention to. what is going on in
the restof the -world, he' added.
The church .through. , missionary
work is bringing :countries closer
together, but much '. more has to
be done.
Dr. MacMillan . and his! • wife,
the former, Donalda Macintosh. of
'Kinloss, 'went to Formosa, in 1924'
as. Presbyterian missionaries. Pre
vious • to that :he had served over-
seas' with the. army •in the First:
.World War.
In Formosa, • the MacMillans
lived at Taipei and became flu-
ent in Amoy Chinese, ; Mandarin
Chinese and Japanese'. In the
Seeond World War . Dr. MacMil-
lan was on the .staff of : the Brit-
ish embassy in Washington 'as a
specialist M broadcasts . to Asia.. .
As a :representative of the Can-
adian . Red •Cross and Canadian
Aid . to China, Dr. MacMillan was
one of the last foreigners to leave.
Shanghai when • the, Communists
moved in:
After: his. retirement two years
ago,. the YMCA sent' Dr. Mac-
Millan back ,to Taipei . on. a dif-
ferent", mission.. He helped set up
Canada.: Hduse,> a .' university,. stu-
dent hostel.
He returned to Canada about
one .year ' ago ' and Mr. and Mrs.
MacMillan have since been spend-
ing.•most of : their time in' .the
Toronto. area.
He was chosen ' ,moderator •in a
contest with Rev. Wiiliam` Weir of
Stratford by250 voting delegrates
at' the assembly representing 800,-.

burgh, Scotland, Mr. Jamieson
now resides in • Hamilton and con-
• ducts ' missions in the rural areas
and smaller towns of Ontario..
The Mission here was :arranged

able to • participate in final plan-
ning
and 'conducting of the Week
of, Mission. District ministers who.

Mr. Jamieson has a dynamic
•and• • pleasing , personality and is
a rousing ' song,. leader. His min-
istry'during the week stressed the
Love of God,: and the discipleship

today's secular society. whose-Con—
duct

On Sunday evening two local
girls, Janet Carruthers and Shar
on Mowbray sang a duet.
After school during the week,

was well attended by school .child
