non. His father died when he was
a .few weeks old. Two years later
his mother married. Mr. Thomas:.
Maclver a widower with a fam-
ily .of four young children, George,
Kenneth, Mary -Jane and William.
To this union were born . four
children, Donald, ; Lauchlan, John
and Lizzie. Mr. Ross is the sole
survivor• of.. this family.
His early life was spent with
an uncle: and aunt, Mr. and .Mrs.
Sandy Ross at Langside. •
Mrs.. • Ross, the • former ••. Jean
Davidson of , Langside, • • passed
away. • in 1946, three 0 years after
they , had • celebrated/ their Dia-
mond wedding anniversary. His.
two daughters, Miss • Minnie Ross..
and Mrs.:Alex Murray, • son-in-law
Alex Murray Sr., and• grand-
daughter,. Miss Jean 'Murray have
also predeceased him.
• Mr: Ross: was. predeceased •by
his . wifeand two daughters. He
is survived by. six .grandchildren,

As a yonng :man Mr: • Ross won
many' 'athletic trophies from the
Caledonian -Games and later. the.
Police and Scottish ;games.' He
was.' a member •of. the Gaelic Soc-
iety.
Mr. Ross . was Huron -Bruce
champion`at the. Caledonian Games
in that
in 1889: and 189;0,.' and
that year. went to Toronto to join
the City Police Force.'
• In the passing of Tom Ross a
direct link:' with the past is sev-
ered .:and those who knew' this
man will long. .remember ° him and
cherish the memory of a fine,
upright gentleman..

Born in Clifford, a son of the
late Mr. and Mrs Alex St.. Marie,
Mr.. St.. Marr' had • lived in Kit
chener f o r approximately 10
years. Prior to that' he farmed
on the Division Line, retiring ' in
1946. He was a .Roman ' Catholic
and a member: of the Holy Name,
Society of St. Anne's Church. He
was predeceased ny his .wife, the
former Margaret Gillen, Decem-
ber 28, 1957, : one daughter, two
brothers and . two sisters.

M. of St. Catharines,. .Myles P.,
Joseph , A. of Vancouver, John E.
of Winnipeg, Raymond . P. of Kit-
chener
