For the past two . weeks, Guides
of the lst Lucknow Company have
held most oftheir ' meetings:on,
the lawn . outside the ' town hall.
Last week the . girls followed a
trail. This, week; stalking was re-
viewed

viewed And a game played to.
practice this. Indoors,: the recruits
are especially busy. with• " their
tenderfoot tests. The other guides.
are working : hard too. ,' Sixteen
girls • have, registered for .camp.
On May 8th an auction sale was
held, which netted' $2;74, to . ;.be
used toward . the purchase of a
new Union Jack. o
•Eight girls' volunteered to 'tag'
for the 'Auxiliary to, the Wingham'
Hospital on Saturday: Plans were
started for . the May, 233rd Local
Association meeting at which the
guides will be' in attendance and
take partin in the program.
SUMMER 'ASSISTANT
IN HURON NAMED
Mr. Murray Shepherd of Scot-
land, Ontario, will be Summer
Assistant Agricultural Represen-
tative for Huron County. He has
just finished his 'second /year at
MacDonald College, P.Q.
Mr. Shepherd has a very im-
pressive 4-H record,having com-
pleted 25 • 4-H Agricultural Club
projects in dairy, sheep, swine,
grain, corn 'and tractor, Murray 1
was a delegate to Provincial 4-H
Leadership Week at 'QAC, Guelph,
in . 1960. ' He has participated in
4-1I Inter -Club " competitions and
was a member of a Royal Agricul-
tural Winter Fair .judging team,
Mr. Shepherd intends to major
m agricultural economics when

Mrs. Harvie Thompson. The . mem-
bers had left gardening and house
cleaning" but . returned. '.'refreshed: .
and ° with vigor to tackle' . their
