Many views werebrought out in
favour of •both 'sides and ' were
very much enjoyed. .
Following the `Queen' and the
Institute Grace a tasty lunch was
served by Miss Lielta ' Finlayson,
Miss Margaret Rae, Mrs. Satin
.ders and Mrs. N. G. MacKenzie.
Denver from Waterloo motored to
Toronto , on ; Wednesday ' afternoon.
The men -folk attended the Con-
struction Equipment. and. Public
Works show at the. Exhibition
Grounds : while Mrs. • Dickie . visit-
ed her uncle Tom Ross and also
Mrs. Thelma MacDonald.' Mr.
Ross, who is now 102, is still,
up every 'day and remarkable for
his ;age. '
A Miss Helen Campbell of ..Kitch-
ener' was home for the week -end.
Mr. and Mrs.. Leonard " Macln-
ries and boys visited with " rela-
tives in Ripley on Sunday and
attended church : service there.'
Weather 'wasn't so, favourable
for Scouts Douglas Eadie and
Mac Machines who completed the
First '' Class Scotit Journey this
past week -end. .

On Thursday morning, while Mr.
Donald Rae. of -Wingham, sales-
man , for Coleman's meats was in

and over the embankment at the
eastern end of. the Cities , Service'
lot. Mr. Walter. Arscott : with his
tractor tried to pull . the ' truck
out but to no' avail.•One of
Russel Chapman's school buses'
was cabled to the truck and pull-
ed it out from it's resting place
against a small . tree. The truck
was not marked : in. anyway and
Mr. Raewas able to continue
on his sales 'route
Master Freddie 1De, Boer, . young-
est son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter
De Boer, on Friday morning, had
the misfortune to have the two.
centre fingers on his left hand
cut in the fanning mill. His father
rushed him to. •Dr. Corrin, Luck
now ' and later he was admitted
to Wingham and District Hospi-
tal. It is hoped to save : the . 2
fingers. Freddie is wished a
speedy, recovery by •his friends.
• Mrs. George Walker attended
the Women's. Institute Conference
held . for District Directors . from
all Ontario at' the Federated Col-
leges in Guelph, May 6 and. 7th.
Mrs. Walker joined Mrs. Patter-
son; " Wii gham, Mrs. Dave Ead e
Belmore • and Mrs. • McDonald,.
Teeswater ' and all . motored to
Guelph on May 5th.. The evening
of May.. 6th they were taken ' to
St. George by bus to view the
Adelaide 'foodless Homestead.

of her husband whose ,remains
