Series Of Meetings
Warden Chester Emmerton.
chaired a meeting of 'the Einer-
glency Measures Organization. held
recently in the Walkerton Town

. series of three meetings were
held; in • the county -- At Wiarton,
Kincardine, and Walkerton. These
meetings were one day courses for
municipal officials and_ heads . of
departments, with*. emphasis plac-
ed , on the municipality's role in
emergency planning.

meeting that .considerable` work
preparatory- to drafting an em-
ergency plan . for the County of
Bruce has been done by the 'EMO
planning committee of Bruce Coun-
ty,, who are:— Chairman, Thomas

All of . the EMO speakers ern-
phasized the new concept of em-
ergency planning in the phases of
disasters resulting 'from. = fire,
flood, hurricane, tornado, gas 'ex-
plosion; plane crash, train wreck,
bus and automobile collisions, etc...
Co-ordinator., Norman Porter'
called attention to the fact ' that
no municipality. is immune to the
hazards : that any of ' these disas-
ters would • bring , and that the
EMO. planning committee of the
county .is currently. discussing the
drafting of a ;hospital plan. in case'
of ' emergencies.
