Curling President
A successful social and business
evening was held by the Lucknow
Curling Club in the .Town Hall last
Saturday evening.
Cards occupied the first part
of the nisht; •with a business
'meeting following. The new slate
of officers •vvas. presented: past
president,' Bob Finlay; president,.
Vernon Hunter; vice-president, Al-
vin. Hamilton; secretary -treasur-
er, 'Mrs. Virden .Mowbray; direc-
tors, Dr. -Jack McKim, Mary gEic-
,Intyre, Glen Walden,.
Retiring secretary, Mrs, Milton
Rayner gave a detailed financial
report of the club which this year
had a membership of 70. Tribute
was paid, to several of the club
who have. spent much of their
time in furthering the work of
the group. A standing ovation was
given Bob Finlay who retired af-
ter two rears as president during
which:time. the club was forrned.
• Vernon Hunter and Bob Finlay
both ,spoke •of- investigat:on that
had been made into the' •possi-
bilities' of •a curling rink here but
no movement has been made to-
ward that goal by the local club.
