A successful euchre was held
at the school Friday night on the
2nd con. of. which Mrs. -Robert,
Irvin is teacher. The prize win-
ners were, ladies . high Mrs.; Ar-

was won by Jack Pentland and
low to Eric Stewart. Miss Marjorie
Silleb won the prize for ' having
a birthday nearest to Leap Year.
The ' Dungannon Women's Insti-
tute held a progressive euchre in
the Parish Hall on February' 21st
with thirty-one:. tables engaged',
with- players. The results were
ladies high : Mrs. Russel Irvin,
second high Mrs. ' Mary Chisholm,
low Mrs. Eldon Culbert. The men's
high prize' Jack . Curran, 2nd high

of ' Erskine Presbyterian , Church
met . at the home : of , Mrs. -Albert
Taylor on. February 24th. Mrs.

by the president Mrs. Robt. Mc-

The minutes of the last meeting

Study : Book by .;Mrs. Wm. Stewart.
Plans for the . March meeting
were under consideration. Hymn:

is survived by a daughter, Mrs.

Year Night, Feb. 29th; Rev: J. A.
Veldhuis openedd the program by
reading a passage of scripture.
Karen Rivett accompanied at the
piano: fora vocal duet by Sharon
Pearson . and Cathy Culbert. Mr.
and Mrs. Veldhuis sang a duet.
Miss Beth McConnell gave a read-
ing. Betty ' Ifvin• accompanied at
the piano, fora. song by a group.

a couple of numbers on the accord

Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs
McClure attended 'the funeral of
Mrs. McClure's step, father, the
late Maitland Beadle at Goderich.

On Tuesday • evening,• the• Y.P.S.
held their meeting in the United
Church in the Sunday school room
under the leadership of president.
Mr. Elwin Moore,. The meeting, op-
ened with a sing song and pian-
ist Mrs.' Garnet Farrier. Miss Bev-
erley Soloman' gavethe call to
woship .and scripture. ' reading -
Miss Edna Wall led, in prayer;
Misses Edna Wall, Janis Farrier
and • Sandra Fisher. sang accom-
panied by pianist Mrs. Garnet
Farrier. Mr. Billie Wall gave the
Story of Work on Japan, The roll
call, A Bible verse, was answered
by 23..A hymn' was sung and the
meeting closed by all repeating the
MizpahBenediction .in' unison.
On Thursday evening the White-
church. Library . Board .held their,.
annual meeting at the home of
Mrs. 'Doris • Willis. The late Mr.
Albert Patterson was chairman` of
the Board. Mrs. George Fisher
was '-appointed chairman. The min-
utes of the 1963 meeting : were
read by the . secretary treasurer,
Mrs. Doris Willis who reported the
circulation of books 1962 - 1.072,
1963 — 1113” books : read. 25 f am-'
ilies" paid a fee of 25c per family.
Balance on hand $89.08 after all
debts are' paid. It was decided to
dispense with the services ;of the
Ways and Means ,committee: for
this year. The election of officers
for 1964 are:: chairman, ; Mrs.

Mr. J: D. Beecroft, Mr. David

the home of Mrs. Earl Caslick.

Janis Farrier made Lemon Chiffon
Custard Cup' which all the girls
sampled along with cookies. They
decided -on- their Book Cover.. De-
sign. The home assignments were
'make• and serve a milk soup
or milk dessert and record results
and recipe. Fill out a • score sheet
for each 'day's meals for 1' week.'.
Compare average score for milk
with -first: weeks., record, Record
results in record book. Bring rec-
ord book and file up to date. The
next meeting will be- held at the
