Bred by a premium 'boar,' (York). Fed home. grown grain balanced vith 40% concentrate. Started slop feed- ing at 175.. lbs. Fed around 5. lbs. per day at finishing period. Ship- ped at 51/2 to 6 months' of age. • In the 100 to 200 class, Dalton McCurdy . of Dobbinton had 93 Grade A's • out of 103 hogs.- His comments were: "Raised • from Yorkshire sows, sired .by a regis- tered York boar.- From 'small chunks to market they are fed one- half gallon per pig twice a' day, possibly a.little more about fininsh- 7ing time. If short' of, grain 1 feed eomthercial hog grower and finish- er. This was fed the first few months then I fed barley, corn, .and oats equal parts with two of concentrate for finisher and' three for . grower — late summer and fall. I used for, grower 600 to 700 oats, 200 shorts, 450 soybean meal, 150 concentrate, the rest barley to make the ton. Finisher aroung 900 oats, 100 soybeans, 100 concen- trate; then barley for the ton.
