The congregation of Olivet Un-
ited Church met , on Friday even-
ing at the church for their annual
business meeting; A "Pot -Luck"
supper was served banquet style
when everyone enjoyed, a hearty
meal and good, fellowship, Rev-
erend Mr. Ball showed . • coloured
slides taken during their 21/2 years
ofmissionary work in China,
which though taken some years.
ago, were', very interesting. While
the grown-ups heard reports' and
conducted the business. of the
church the young folk enjoyed -
games. in the snow while the
wee- ones played their own special
games indoors. Mr. Ball was
chairman for the business " ses-
sion till he • had to leave when:
Mr. ` Walter • Roulston very ably
filled the chair. Mr. 'Sandy Mac -
Charles was secretary. Very sat-
isfactory reports were heard from
all departments of the church
work and officers were appointed
for the year. Plans were initiated
for . the ": 75th anniversary to be
held possibly in July.
The U.C.W. met at the home
of ".Mrs. E. 'Osborne on Thursday..
evening. , Mrs. White's group led
the' devotional service. Mrs. White
opened the ':meeting with the call
to _worship and prayer. Mrs. Os-
borne read the Scripture and 'com-
ments. : Mrs. John ' 'MacCharles
sang "It took a Miracle" •.accom-
panied at the piano by Miss Mary
Roulston. : Mrs. Robert . Osborne
showed a film strip showing some
of the things acomplished by of-
ferings of the Women's World Day
of Prayer meeting. Mrs. R. Os-:
borne, the president conducted the
business : period which was fol-
lowed by lunch ' and a social " hour.
The Clover Valley 4-H Club, held
their fvcsf : meeting. on Wednes-
day after school at the home of
Sandra MacCharles. - Mrs.. Herb
Clayton' is the:' leader assisted by
Mrs. John' MacCharles. This is
the "Milky Way" project and the
name Kozy 'Custards was chosen.
