-, Mr. Brown at one time operated
a blacksmith shop to the west of
his present" building which he pur-
chased from Bob Steele, now of De-'
trait. He ,had the first truck in
Huron Township and did many
moving jobs as far as Detroit, . as
well as: ,hauling livestock to Luck
now and' Ripley.
He recalls when, la addition . to
the business , named, Amberley
had a ` shoemaker,dressmaker,
sawmill, chopping mill, wagon and
blacksmith shop, tailor ".shop..
Mr. Brown recalled a store ' sit-
uated on the Gore Road where the

Both are now gone. Across. from it
-was a Methodist church which was
torn .down some time after church'.

There has been a' lot of history
through the years at Amberley and
Walter Brown has watched, it from
