to other Guides..
Janet replied thanking Barbara
Rathwell who had kept her inter-
ested in ,Guide work, Mrs. Jack
Mahn who had been her Guide
Captain for the past few years,
Mrs. A. E. McKim who had help-
ed her with her Guide work,
•Mrs. Tupper for testing her, The
Local. Association of ethe Girl Gui-
des and Mrs. Jack MacDonald,
president of the , Association for
planning the ceremony, and her
parents Mr. and Mrs. V ir d e n
Mowbray for all the help they
had given her.
The choir of Guides sang: -Man-
dy, a campfire favourite, of Jan-
et's. Th:. Guide Prayer was, said

Guide must pass to qualify for a
Gold Cord, she must also, meet
many requirements. .The Girl
Guide must be recommended by
the Court of Honour of her com-
pany and her Guide Captain. She
must prove herself capable .of ser-
vice to a group or :individual in
home, school, church or local co-
mintmity. She 'Must prove her re-
liability, cheerfulnessand ability
'to work with and under others.
The Guide must be able to apply
the knowledge which she has ac-
quired during her years in Guid-
ing, have courtesy and common
sense and act intelligently in. dif-
ferent' Situations. ' •
The congregation were invited
to attend a reception after 'the
service in Janet's honour in the
lower auditorium of , the church.
Mrs. A. E. McKim, .who has 'been
very active in the Giri Guide
work for many years, introduced
h e. Cominissioners Mrs. Dixon
and Mrs. Tupper and alsb Mrs.
Bruce • Connell of Galt,. Commis-
sioner of Conestoga Area. Mrs.
McKim congratulated Janet , and
presented Mrs. Mowibray with a
rose and Mr.. MoWbray. with • a
carnation. '
Janet thanked everyone for at-
tending. , Lunch was served and
a fruit :cake, 'appropriately decor-
ated for: the. occasion, was cut
and' served by Janet. • '
