RECIPE OF THE MONTH
By the Ontario Tender Fruit Institute
"Buy Canada Choice Canned Fruit" .
•Pear Helene ,
For each • serving of Pear Helene use ` 2' canned ,Canadian
Bartlett pear halves which have been ;•drained and chilled.
Place them, stem.end. up, in . a sherbert glass or bowl. Place
a. scoop'of vanilla. ice- cream between : the:. pear .halves and
drizzle with. chocolate.' syrup: '
CHOCOLATE SYRUP
2, squares unsweetened:' Dash of. salt
chocolate. 2 `teaspoons .`vanilla
1. cup . ; water • 2 tablespoons butter
2 .cups sugar •
Cut chocolate in pieces, and . stir over'low heat in water.
until dissolved and thick and smooth. Add ' sugar and : salt.
Stir until dissolved. Boil 3 minutes • 'and ` add vanilla and but-
ter.
Serge• `hot or cold. May be. stored in covered jar• in re-
frigerator and'reheated. •...

money received from School Board
had paid reunion expenses a n d
sufficient Historical Booklets sold
to also meet expenses. Several
are still available. A copy has
beendonated to. Bruce County
Archives. •
The secretary reported ` on the
wedding dinner served by t h e
Women's Institute ' members. It
had been a fine co-operative : ef-
fort and -great credit is due the
committee and a 'll ' who helped.
If possible a. group. will visit at-.

Victoria Smith will serve ` on the

year.. She alio announced the Co-
op Medical` Services' annual • at
