adian Girls', In Training,organiz-
ed

ed` by Miss Joanne Alton and hav-
ing eleven :girls as members from
Blakes, Hacketts and Zion, was
held at the home of ` Miss :: Alton,
011 Sunday evening, October 3rd,
at 7:00. Themeeting opened with
the C.G.LT, pledge, ''followed' by
the C.G.I.T. 'hymn.
Election of officers resulted °as
follows: ' president, •Faye :Henry;
vice; president, Wanda . Hunter;
press reporter, Rosalene Phillips.
Topic for discussing was, "Why
can't I live by •a set of rules"?
The next meeting ; be held
Sunday, October 37th, at 7:30, at
Joanne Alton's. Any igiris .between,
the ages. V 12 ,,and 17 who would'
be interested in joining " the Ash-
field United Church C.G.I.T. are
encouraged to get in touch , with
Miss Joanne Alton. The meeting
was closed' :with a; prayer.'

Citizenship' : was the theme for
the September meeting' of Dun-
gannon Women's Institute held at
the home , of Mrs. W. ` Rutledge
Members answered' , the : roll call
by : displaying an article of inter-
est ` •from ; another country.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Nel-
son Of 'Clinton, was. .unable to at-
tend. H e r paper onCitizenship
was read by Mrs. W. Zinn.
The " motto, "If You ,.are a self
starter your' Boss " will; not have
to be a Crank,'' was prepared by.
Mrs. K. Dawson and read by Mrs.
R. Finnigan.
During the business period a
donation' of ,$10 was made to the
C.N.I:.B. An invitation to attend
the 60th anniversary ' of • St. Hel-
ens Women's ,Institute on Octo-
ber ` 7th was accepted. Mrs. : G.
McNee was •appointedrepresenta-
tive to the Handicraft Display pro-
ject for the 1966 ploughing , match.
A meeting will be 'held at Carlow,
October :19th, for the . West Huron
Area. The fall rally at Walton,
to be held October 4th was an-
nounced. A reading was given by
thelunch convener, Mrs. .'George.
Errington, who with Mrs. W.
Brown and Mrs. I. Rivett served
refreshments. •

community hall on Wednesday ev-
ening, of Iast week, with , an .at-
tendance of sixteen. Mrs. William'
Ferguson presided and Mrs. Ce-
cil; Humphrey read the minutes
and correspondence. . The roll call

ter the business period Mrs. Ce-
cil. Holland gave a ' report ' of •. Kin-
cardine Fall Fair W.I. prizes : of
which. Reids Corners received -a
fair share. 'A display, of antiques

fruit dish, gold watch and chain,
silver butter dish, silver, plate (a.
gift from France), fine linen han-
dkerchief (hand made),a book
of !, C. H. Spurgeons sermons, Mou-
stache cups: -and other articles.

given by Mrs:, Donald Courtney.

esting skit by Mrs. 1897, taken
by Mrs. Wesley Robb ' and Mrs.
1965 by Mrs. Sam Snobelen was
well • given and enjoyed by all as

of living to that of our ancestors.
Community . singing . followed. Af-
ter the . closing ode and ` grace,
lunch was served' by the hostess-
es, Mrs. Mac. Boyd ,and "Mrs. Mer-
vyn Funaton. After the lunch hour,
Mrs. Cecil Holland gave interes-
ting highlights of a .: visit , with Mr.
and Mrs. Nadkarny of India, who
are currently visiting this country
where ` : Mr. Nadkarny- is working
with other fellow countrymen, at
the, . C a`n d u Plant at Douglas
Point.

with Mrs. John Morgan and 'fam-

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Scott .of Rip-
ley visited. recently with Mr. and
Mrs. John Emmerton.
Mr. a n d Mrs. Walter Brown
spent the •week -end with Mr. and
Mrs. Ernie Young of Goderich.
Mrs. Glenn Campbell and ,Glen-
na visited on Saturday with, Mrs.
Beatrice Robb of Wingham.

The first meeting of Colwanash
Learning. Lassies was held on Sat-
urday, October. 2nd, at 1:30, at
the ninth concession school house,:
with ' 12 members. present.
Election of officers for this pro-
ject a r e as follows: president,
Barbara Riegling; vice president,
Karla Riegling treasurer, Susan
Arnold; secretary, „each girl in.
tan; press reporter, Rosalee Hac-
lett. ;
The leaders, Mrs. MacDonald
and Mrs. Riegling, discussed the
subject matter. Mrs. Riegling 'de-
monstrated
demonstrated how to properly take
measurements, .using. Lorraine Ni-
cholson . as a model., Samples of
materials and patterns were pass-
ed around to check. The meeting
•closed ,with the singing of the
Queen.'
