bly,of the Province. of .Ontario "... to inquire into end:.
review the provisions of The Conservation Authorities Act
and .such other, Acts of this Legislaturerelevant to the: -
'powers; exercised by conservation authorities is the Com-
mittee may deem appropriate •
"And that without limiting the generality of the foregoing
to inquire Into and review the following, matters: • .
. (a) the constitution and powers of conservation,•authorities..
including the number and. method of appointment.of
members;
(b), the system, of financing••the work of conservation au-
thorities and the ability. Of local municipalities to pay•:
''for their share ot•conservation schemes;
• (c) the power of conservatioh authorities to acquire. or
'expropriate lands and the methods used therefor;
(d) the administrative practices and methods of conserve-

onserve•'ti'on authorities in "carrying out their respdnsibilities
under The Conservation. Authorities Act,"
.Conservation authorities, municipalities, associations and
i ndividuais •are invited to present submissions..
Submissions should. be filed'with •the Secretary•. by October
15th, 1965. Hearings will commence subsequenttothatdate.'.

Clan gathereed . at the Ashfield
Park, but owing to • rain the 'picnic:
was transferred-tothe:Legion Hall,
Lucknowwhere, over seventy of
the relatives 'sat down to a picnic
supper. :
Owing. to. the weather condit
ions:. all sports events were can-
celled. However. after ; • supper
gifts • were given . to several, the
oldest lady 'present •under ninety,
Mrs. Rae , Horton; the youngest
child Margot Stothers of London;,
birthday nearest August .7th, Hen
ry Gardner; coming the; greatest:
distance, Miss Violet Saunders, a
'missionary for many • years in
Japan.
Miss Flora Andrew presented 'a
silver spoon • •.to ' :each relative
known to be over ninety whether;
.at the ' picnic or not, Mrs. Dave
Hackett; Mrs. W. G. Andrew and
John Lane.
During. the business' parte of the'
Programme, officers were appoint-
ed for another year. President,'

Relatives were present from
Winnipeg, Florida, Orillia, Toron-
to Clarkson, London, Elora, God-
erich, Japan.
Everyone joined • hands before

Gather At Reunion-
About eighty members . of the
late Peter McTavish family held
their • annual family reunion at
Lansdowne Park, Kincardine on
the afternoon of August 1, 165.
are 'descendants of the Iate Peter
MVlacTavish, who was born on Ap-
ril '9,,;: 1853, on lot 17, concest`ion;
2, Huron .Township, 4& of the late
Sarah MacNair, who was 'born in
Hastings County, ..on June 14, 1863.,
Six members' of the: • family of
eight,. with; their children . and ' I
grandchildren, enjoyed renewing
acquaintances.
Rev. Duncan .MacTavish, of Lon-
don, the eldest person present, re-
ported on : the research on the,
family ',tree. Many ; interesting
features have been . learned and
it is expected that the family his-
tory will be ready for distribution..
among the family bytheir next re-
union.

great grandfather, the late ' Dun
can MacTavish :of. Argyllshire;; he
was able to• visit the island of Is-
lay, off the •:'coast of Scotland
wehre • his brother, Pilot Officer
Wallace. Johnston was killed in
action in 1943:
