bale which was recently packed
and sent to Cape Croker. Mrs.
Ronnie Irwin also reported, on the
nylons' which. were sent to Korea
and how ,they are appreciated' as
it creates work for Korean Wom-
en:.
Mrs.1 . George ' Wightman was
convenor °-for the .programme and
gavea reading and prayer fol
lowed with a ;hymn. After the?
scripture reading and . ' meditat-
ions by, Mrs: Eldon Bradley, Mrs.
Wesley '.Robb .- gave a prayer. A
duet by Mrs. Carl Funston and
Mrs; Ernest` Thompson was ac,

Mrs. George : Wightman: intro=
duced. the guest speaker -Miss
Margaret Wylie who gave:; an in-'
teresting . account of a tour
through Egypt and the Holy. Land,
which was enjoyed . by, .everyone.
Miss. Wylie was :presented with 'a,
gift. After the closing hymn, lun-
ch was served in the Sunday
School roo and a social 'hour
was spent.

A highly esteemed and well-
known resident. of Lucknow, Mrs.
Grant. MacDiarnlid,. the .former
Mary Ann Blue passed away at
Wingham District Hospital on
July 30th.. Shewas the, daughter
of the late Mr, and. Mrs. Jas: ,K '
Blue. She was . in.. her sixty-eighth.
year and death followed. a severe
_coronary thrombosis, , • , •w f
•, Mrs.; 1VfacDiarmid was -born'
Iuron' Township.._ At. the . age of
seven 'she moved with her family
across the road to Ashfield Town-
ship. where she resided •until 1921
when she married Grant MacDiar-
mid and moved. to his farm
at
Paramount Fourteen' years ago'
they moved to Lucknow.
She . was a faithful member, df
Lucknow United Church . and was
a lifemember of • the• United
Church Women.
• ' Tragedy ' came to 'their home
when an accident •claimed the .life
Of their nine year old son; twenty
'six years . 'ago.. Sixteen years, lat-
er her husband 'passed •away sud-
denly. They. had 'also' beenbe-
reaved of an infant son., A niece,
Mrs. Roy.. Stanley (nee 'Bessie.,
'Reavie) made her home with Mr.
and' Mrs.. MacDiarmid for twenty...
years. '
Mrs. `:.MacDiarinid is survived` by
two sisters. Mrs. Samuel (Flossie)
Geddes ` and Mrs. '. Lloyd, . (Cather
ine) Irwin both:•of Ripley &, three
brothers' .William of Detroit,' Johne
and Donald, both of Ripley. She
was 'predeceased by one ; sister
Mrs. Elymer Reavie .'(Bessie), and
one brother 'George • J. Bjue, ` De-
troit.
