The 'death occurred . of 'William:
Ernest Blake on June 21st at 'Vic-
toria 'Hospital, London, where , he
`had •undergone surgery. He was
in his 78th year., .
Mr; Maki . was . born on. Con-
cession. 9 in Ashfield Township . on
July , 20 1.887, where- his son Keith
now resides. He was .the son of
William Blake and'Mary Jane

His';. marriage to Laura •Ethel
Phillips of Ashfield took, place on
September 24, 1913, at the . home
of the bride's 'parents.' Mr. and
Mrs. :Blake farmed tn the home
farm. Mrs. Blake passed away in
September of • 1948.
Two years` later ;he went to 'live
With his. daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. ,Gordon . Morrison,
Boundary 'East. ' In' 1954 Mr. Blake
took, .up residence . with ,his sister
Mrs. Alberti Alton' in"-Lucknow far
three years. In the fall of 1958,
he bought . a home , .on Havelock:
Street. South:. where he resided un-
til the time of his death.
Mr.. Blake . was a . member of
the' '•Luc;.now United Church and
a former clerk of session there
.for seven ' years.
';lie is 'survived. by two daugh-'
ters M rs.:.' Harold (Winnifred)
Webster . and Mrs. 'Gordon (Phyl-
lis) Morrison of West Wawanosh;

Besides his wife, Mr: Blake Was

on June 23rd at.- 2:00 'p m. Rev.

at .the . 88 -year-old ,Dungannon• cern-
etery was • held on Sunday, June
27th. Rev.'. Rod MacLeod gave'the
address assisted by Rev. J.' A.
Veldhui' and, Rev. S.:E. . Jay. The
organ music was. provided by Mrs:
Allan . Reed, ' assisted by Mrs. W.
J. Irwin and Douglas Cameron
with . violins:. A „ group, of girls
from the local 'churches sang, the
hymn. "Simply Trusting" and also
assisted with ' the hymns . on The
order of Service.
The offering for' the 'Cemetery
upkeep amounted to $146.75. fiat-
vey Culbert: • provided the, plat-
form for those who took part and

ghan. She was ,born - in Colborne
•township on . May 25th, 1889. A.
'graduate of. Goderich Business
College she, :worked several .'years
in . Toronto:: On April .18, .1917 in
Auburn Manse she married Jam
es . W. 'Laidlaw and • resided on:
the 12th •Concession of West Wa
wanosh until Mr.: Laidlaw's: death.
in 1957.
Mrs: Laidlaw is survived by two,
sons, Kenneth :of London,' and: El
roy .of; West Wawanosli, six grand-
children, - two 'brothers, • Edward
