EEDY'S OATMEAL COOKIES .
GO A LONG Lank; WAY
The taste of 'Eedy's .oatmeal'
cookies has made .its mark on
Canada's west coast, ' thanks.
to cousin , Bob Hewat of Van-
couver, •
Bob• is the ' son 'of Mr . and
Mrs. Bill Hewat (Frances
Thompson) of Toronto. and the
Hewat . family have a... 'slim-
mer cottage at the •."foot, of
the .12th of Ashfield". It, was
cwhile' summering at • this beach
that Bob' first was introduced
to the oatmeal cookies from:
the Dungannon , bakery; hav-
ing purchased them . from
Ross Shielis who was in bus- .
bless at .Amberley at that ..
time. Bob immediately be-
came an "Eedy oatmeal ad-
diet", and' despite the fact that : •
he now lives,. 3000 miles from
this area, he still . can't "kick
the habit".
Mrs.' Lorna Pineo,' the form-
er Lorna Barber: and a niece.
of Mrs. Robert Thompson of
Lucknow, ' visited here recent–
ly from her Vancouver. home.
She had specific, instructions
from Bob. to. be sure and pick.
!IP some • Eedy's' oatmeal cook-
. ies while in' 'the Lucknow ar-
ea, She did, and we imagine'
Bob had a munching., good
time when she returned home,
We' feel responsible in 'a°.
Way for this insatiable yearn
ing that bugs Bob's tummy,'
•
because we believe he was
', first introduced to this popu
lar cookie at . the Thompson:.
cottage' at Amberley. , We . are
Pleased, however, . that he has
brought fame to the• Eedy ba-
kery which' is now known .in
a select circle at the west
coast,
