HAIL. "LIKE GOLF . BALLS"
How often . do we hear • the ex-
pression,
"hail the ' size of 'golf.
.balls”. This was no exaggeration
in . Sunday's *storm and, many :kept
a few 'chunks in their ' freezer
just to prove it. For • the ";gard-
ener, . the hail storm spelled doom
for many of his flowers in ' what
is already a very backward •sea-
son. The .wind,. rain and hail strip-
ped' -the foliage, from. trees, and
left. a green carpet everywhere...
• FOURSOME IN STORM
Four young ' girls, ' Linda. Chis-
holm, Nancy Kirkland, Nancy

preparing . •a :campsite for • girl
guide work and. were at the rear
of Glen ' Walden's farm ' at the
time 'the storm • broke. The girls
were unprotected through the
rain, hail, and electrical storm
and were dreused in shorts '.arid
light summer clothing through the.
worst of the storm.. They . were
none the 'worse except for bruis-
es from, the hail:
