The tourist booth is county fin-
anced but local . details are hand-
led . by the Huron Council. The
booth ' 'has . been ' in operation for
a number of `,.years. It was loc-
ated at Courtney's Store at Am-
berley and ,after. the selling • and
removal of th e store, •' Arthur
Courtney operated the booth froth
his' home ..,at the Amberley corn
' Mr. Courtney's . death occurred
recently' ' and• •this resulted fii the
subsequent appointment of .Mun-
ro's Store as the tourist centre.

Tenders were opened. for a new
'grader with the contract going to

of ' Goderich, having 'the lowest
bid • at $24,326.54 complete with
911 clutch and ,tax. This contract
is subject to ,the ` approval of the
Department of Highways, The old'
grader' is being kept by. ..the �town-

Guire are feeling lucky these
days. During the first heavy
',snow :storm in December,
Jack lost his wallet while
shoving and shovelling ' his
car out of snow drifts. Re-
peated searches failed until
last . Wednesday he tried` 'a
gain, this time ' a soaked and
battered wallet was a very
pleasant sight. • •
• The ' wallet contained a $20
cheque, $18 in cash and.. Jack's
permit.
Jack found the' wallet in a
ditch near Mrs. W. R. Ham-.
ilton's 'farm about one '; mile
• • from '' the McGuire home. The,
McGuires were not sure of
the exact : location the wallet .
was lost, ,but they think the
snow plow • could possibly have
carried it down the road.

by the Lucknow Police. • Officer in

gomery. Motors, in Lucknow` for
$2678. The car. is' built to: Ontario
Provincial Police: specifications &

purchase, Reeve George Joynt
•said. that council felt that ' no in-
dividual accepting the police of-

that council . are considering the
