OBITUARY
MRS.' FRED GIBSON
Fassing' away at the home'of
her , son-in-law • .and daughter in
London on. 'February 27th, , 1965,
was ' Mrs: 'Fred Gibson° in. her
eighty-fifth year.
'Mrs. Gibson, the.ormer Hate
Chappel, came to' Canada 'from
England in "1902; the, .same year
as her , husband, now deceased.
She resided for as ,short time with
her brother; Charles Chappel a
blacksmith at Lochajsh, who' also
predeceased 'her. Later they ..mov-
ed to Ripley,: • •
in '1907 she . was ima+
married ;to
Fred -Gibson in Lucknow-and. they
settled in Ripley where Mr. Gib-
son was a .tinsmith and, later on
•conducted his ' own usiness. To

them was 'born 'one daughter, Ed-
,ith (Mrs. Harvey '. Frook) who is ; ..
left to mourn her loss. Shealso
leaves one grandson,' 'Fred Frook ..
and two great-grandchildren.
' •Mrs. Gibson. had been an m-.
valid` for ''many years. and for the
past seven 'years was Confined to
a wheel chair. She.was cared for • .
lovingly by her daughter and son-. '
in-law, • Mr'' and • Mrs. Harvey
Fret*, in :London .. and at her
home ,Ripley. She was , noted
for her many .kindnesses to all
With ';whom she came in contact,
espcally , children. To her many
friends and, family she ' was love
and loyalty itself.
'Her ` remains , were brought to
the McLennan Funeral Home in
Ripley where the. funeral , was
'held on March 2nd conducted by
ReV.• George Ball of St.' Andrew's
United' Church; The family' and,
many friends, from the district, as
well as' from a distance, •'were
present', including Mrs. A. Mac-
•Intyre. 'and Mrs. Wilkins of Lon-.
don,' and Mrs . 'W. S. Gardiner
(Mildred Morgan) of : South' Por-
cupine,' Many were the .floral tri-
butes, most of,which, were' later
distributed t� churches here and
in London,, and to the sick and
shut-ins. Honorary 'pallbearers
were ' "Bert Breckenridge, Ross'
Martyn, Lot Culbert .and. Walter
Walden, Pallbearers" were.. Frank
Scott, . Wilfrid Steele, James Fere
rier, Reg . Moore, Gordon Scott
and Fred Jackson. Interment was
in Ripley cemetery.
