This week' was, a very . busy one
in the `. Ontario Legislature . `with
• the completion of estimates of
the' ' Department of ' • Transport.
This created considerable ',debate.
During. consideration ' of Trans-
port estimates, , it was urged ..that
the : government • allow breathaly-
zer ;tests. `as . one concrete "way. in
which' to. cute down the toll of
deaths ' and serious ' injuries which•
result from the misuse of our
roads."
The ' Goverment introduced:, : an
act designed ' to ban, ,strikes and
lockouts at hospitals in the. prov-
ince. Considerable debate,'is" an-
ticipated on• second reading. This
. Act. the hospital Labour 'Disputes
• Arbitration Act -1965 would pro-

r-o-=wide for compulsory . arbitration
Of hospital. disputes, only '•after,
conciliation' had . been completed
without settlement.' The para-
mount . factor in approaching ' lab-

address various church groups
on mission: work • in'. India:'
As .parents. we Were proud :to
attend Convocation: •• at Western
University where. Mary Ellen re-:
ceived the degree: of ;B.Sc., in ,
Nursing.: Soon afterwards she ac
cepted a position in Victoria. Hos-.
pital, London, Ontario, where she
had• received training.
On May, 31st we were delighted
to .meet-withscores of relatives
• and friends at Chalmers 'Presby,
terian Church,rWhitechurch, Ont.,.

at. the Centenary . Anniversary
Servicesin his, old` home church:.
Another.' most . memorable ` oc
casion was when our son, . Donald;
was united in marriage with Es-.
ther Tippett in Elmwood Avenue
Presbyterian Church, London;
Ont., on June: 13th, 1964. • A recap
tion . followed' in the Church Hall
with a wedding supper; served to,,
75 guests. . From • Angus'' .,faiily
`five brothers and three sisters at-
tended. 'It takes • a wedding . or
funeral to get so many of. us to-
gether. It is wit joy and •• s'atis-
faction we have come to realize'
that both our 'children are child-
ren no, longer but each, has laun-
ched Out on life's, . adventurous
*alley. May • God direct' their

lives and. ministry. .
After a wonderful send-off 'from
Knox Church Toronto,and later
being met in ,Montreal,at the ship:
by church friends in that'City;
we set sail for India en June 20th
on the SS; "Empress of England"
And transshipped to, the S,S."
"Circassia" :at ; Liverpool. We
spent almost:the entire time bet-
ween . ships motoring iri .Southern
Scotland and in Ireland with' Cath-
ie's . three cousins, The. weather
was' superb, . and the countryside
most, charming
Since our return' ,the' time ''has
Passed quickly as ..•vire have again'
become more andmore involved
in -the work on the mission field.
Cathie has resumed her old job
•aa Treasurer of the. Mission and
has engaged in .various ..helpful,
forms. of work, Angus has • •taken
some administrative -duties;

has recently visited about 30 of
the larger towns. of :our area
while conducting :a party of evan-
gelists 'with ' the Bible Van' tor
North India. In ' spite. of • hard
work, a . few frustrations, some
opposition, ete., many hundreds:
of Gospels were sold and ever so
many opportunities afforded for
explaining; the 'Gospel ' of Jesus.
Christ and correcting or refuting
certain erroneous ideas 'which are
prevalent • about Christians and
Christianity:', •
The '20 Tibetan - refugeegirls in
;the Helen MacDonald Boarding
Schoolwere. overjoyed at receiv-
ing numerous . 'little articles be-
sides lovely warm sweaters sent
out with us : by . ever ' so' many
friends in Canada.. Their happy,
beaming faces •express the thank-
fulness
hankfulness of their hearts. Undoubt-
edly these tokens of ' love `will
draw them closer to: our Saviour.
