of a 1962 'trip he and' his family
and his mother and father had
taken to the. Maritimes. The •pur-
pose of •this travelogue '.Was' to
• int out what . the Scouts of the
district can expect to .do and see
on the proposed 'eastern : trip in
the • 1967 Centennial year. The
proposed route and':' the adminis-
trative details .were : worked out.•
at a . recent meeting of the Dis-
trict Committee and the plans as
outlined by Scouter . CGeorge and
Lloyd are detailed and ' a great
many. •ideas. have 'been carefully

interesting ' tr'ip' through history

,The , itinery, , to start June 30th,
1957 from Walkerton, includes. 'a
two 'day stop at . Ottawa where
an all out, celebration is planned
to celebrate Canada's OneHun-
dreth Birthday. Montreal and .the
World's' Fair, Quebec City, via,
Maine • where a one night stop-
over will be • made at Bangore,
then.' on' to. St. John, N:&. and
'Monkton, by ferry . to P.E.I. 'and;
Charlottetown. In P.E.I. the • eft-.
petted group of '300' scouts and
leaders wilt spend . several days
camping and . enjoying the sandy
beaches and ocean ., swimming.
Returning by ferry to the Main-
land the :party willproceed to
Cape Bret,* Island, its highlands
and the Cabot Trail. In Cape Bre-
ton it 18 hoped the whole group
will: have the opportunity to go
deep spa fishing. In Halifax, it
