long. Purple Grove district resi-
dent, observed his' 89th birthday
on, • February 4th. Mr. Thompson
is 'able to be up and around" ev-
ery day but has been a shut in
since. Christmas. He enjoys hav-
ing, callers.. Many cards of con-
•'gratulation were' received by.
him', '. A faintly .dinner, planned to
celebrate'. Mr. Thompson's' birth-
day, had to be cancelled owing
to :blocked" roads.

MRS. JOSEPH B. O'DONNELL
Mrs. Rose O'Donnell` died on
February 10th, at the age of • 75
in', Elora Nursing Home where
she had' been a patient since the
first. of December. She is the
mother of Jim O'Donnell of. town
Mrs. O'Donnell. and her ' hus-
band. Joseph B. O'Donnell farm-
ed' all their ':married: ,life' near
Kenilworth ' between „Mt. Forest
and Arthur" on No. 6 Highway un-
til 10 years ago when they retir
ed to live in :`Kenilworth.
Besides her husband, who.. was
80 last . July,. ''Mrs. .O'Donnell:
leaves to mourn her passing
