May. 23rd, 1866,, she was the
daughter • of. the.late David Stew-
art and•Mary• MaeLean;who were
• among the earliest pioneers on
•e Lake Shore Range, north' of.
ntaiL Mrs. Finlayson was the,
the
and last ''surviving mem-
ber in a family of eleven.
In' 1892, she married • William
Finlayson, a neighbour and close
friend from childhood,• who prede-
ceased her August 9th; 1940.
In April, 1901, they moved from
Ashfield• to- • the: farm . at Lorne,
north of• , Kincardine, where 'Mrs, '
Finlayson resided until the time
of her death, except for the years
spent With her daughter Marg-
aret in Paris, .Preston and Tor-
.onto., .During those'Years she re,
turned hotne ' each summer en-
, ,joying her ' friends' and ' ,surround -
logs to the fullest.
.Finlayson was a member
of Knox ,Presbyterian Church • and
a life mertiher o£ the Women's
MissiQtiary Society • •
'She is survived by three 'daugh
